SOP - GLANDING PROCESS OF DOUBLE COMPRESSION CABLE GLAND

Glands Parts/Accessories Details :

Double Compression Gland are manufactured from brass through machining process.

The glands consists of Check Nut/Lock Nut (1), Seal Ring Washer (2), Armour Clamping Nut/Nipple Entry Part (3),

Inner Ring (4), Armour Clamping Cone (5), Armour Clamping Ring/ (6), Gland Main Body (7), Outer Ring (8), Outer Seal Nut/Compression Nut (9)

Sequence of Glanding :

Step 1 : Pass item 10,9,8 & 7 respectively over cable before commencing to strip the overseath.

Step 2 : Remove the Outer sheath and pass item 6 over exposed armour.

Step 3 : Cut Armour to required length, lift wire ends, pass item 5 over exposed bedding and beneath armour.

Step 4 : Pass item 4

Step 5 : Pass Cable end through item 3.

Step 6 : Assmeble item 7 and 3 and then tighten up both parts.

Step 7 : Screw item 3,2 with assmble part of 7&3.

Step 8 : Tighten up with Spanner until the main body thread fully mating with its associate threading part.
